HOLIDAYS to Florida and New York are back ON from next month as the US border opens for vaccinated Brits after 19 months.

Visits to the likes of Disneyland and Miami will be on from November 8 – if travellers can prove they are double jabbed and test negative within three days of flying.

Confirming the news, White House assistant press secretary Kevin Munoz wrote on Twitter: “The US’ new travel policy that requires vaccination for foreign national travellers to the United States will begin on Nov 8.

“This announcement and date applies to both international air travel and land travel.

“This policy is guided by public health, stringent, and consistent.”

The US border was shut by Donald Trump in March 2020.

But on September 20, the Biden Administration announced restrictions would ease.

Under the current rules, most non-US citizens who have been in the UK and several other countries including China, Brazil and India are barred from entry.

But in just a couple of weeks, international visitors who have received Covid-19 vaccines authorised by US regulators or the World Health Organization will be welcomed with open arms.

This means Brits who were given the AstraZeneca jab will be recognised as protected from the virus, despite it not being rolled out Stateside.

It also means the Pfizer, Moderna, Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines will also be accepted.

PHASED RETURN Earlier this week, a White House source said the land border opening would happen in two phases.

Initially, vaccines will be required for “non-essential” trips – such as visiting family or tourism – though unvaccinated travellers will still be allowed into the country for “essential” journeys as they have been for the last year and a half.

A second phase beginning in early January 2022 will require all visitors to be fully vaccinated to enter the US by land, no matter the reason for their trip.
