Gators News: Track And Field Wraps Up NCAAs, Plus Swimming And Arnold Palmer Cup – Gators Wire

Welcome back from a weekend of Gators sports as three programs — five teams total — were active in various competitions. The men’s and women’s track and field teams finished up their 2021 schedules in the NCAA Championships while the men’s and women’s swim teams participated in the Team USA Olympic Trials and three members of the men’s golf team plus their coach wrapped up the Arnold Palmer Cup. The men’s track and field team wrapped up its 2021 collegiate season finishing fourth overall in this year’s Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Along the way, another Gator added an NCAA title, this time sprinter Joseph Fahnbulleh earned the crown by logging the tenth-fastest time in collegiate history in the 200-meter sprint with a time of 19.91 [-0.4] seconds. The men have finished every NCAA Championships meet in the top four since 2009.

The three members of the men’s golf team wrapped up play at the Arnold Palmer Cup this weekend with Ricky Castillo helping Team USA earn a win over the international team, who was managed by Florida head coach J.C. Deacon; Yuxin Lin (China) and Joe Pagdin (England) also participated, playing under Deacon on the international squad. UF was the only school with three men participating in the tournament.
