CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Sometimes the quarterbacks at Florida State and Miami can be more than rivals.
With D’Eriq King and McKenzie Milton, there’s a little bit of everything.
There is their history as stars in the American Athletic Conference in their time at Houston and UCF.
There’s the business relationship — Dreamfield, the NIL-based platform they co-founded at the start of July to help college athletes make money booking live events, signing autographs and doing meet-and-greets.
And there’s their friendship, one built through shared pain and mutual respect, and maintained with phone calls and text messages from afar.
Milton was supposed to drive to South Florida this summer and meet up with King. But the trip got postponed, Milton said.
