COMPLETE COVERAGE OF GATORS AT THE OLYMPICS ON JULY 20 FUKUSHIMA, Japan – The Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics are underway and so are the journeys for 31 Gators who are realizing their dreams by representing 15 different countries.

 

Softball (USA)

Michelle Moultrie, Aubree Munro and Kelsey Stewart officially became the first Gators in Florida softball program history to compete in an Olympic event as Team USA opened pool play against Italy late Tuesday night at Fukushima Azuma Stadium.

 

The trio made the starting lineup with Moultrie playing right field, Stewart at third base and Munro behind the plate catching.

 

Moultrie opened the scoring as she plated Valerie Arioto in the 4th inning of play on an RBI single through the right side of Italy’s infield. Munro scored the second run of game and extended Team USA’s lead out to 2-0 in the 5th frame when she was driven home on a SAC fly. Munro reached via her first Olympic hit with a single.

 

USA will take on Canada Wednesday, July 21, at 8 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.
